The service transition manual is a guideline for developing and improving the necessary skills for the transition of new or modified services into operation. This publication provides instructions on how the service strategy requirements - coded into service design packages - can be effectively implemented within the service operation and how errors and failure risks can be minimized. Practices from release management, program management and risk management are combined and formed into service management within a context based on practice. Tools are also provided for transferring control of the services between customer and service provider.
