Today there are numerous companies offering ITIL® -based training. However, only accredited training companies such as Glenfis AG (www.glenfis.ch) have methods of training and training documents which have been quality-approved. These accredited courses are inspected by the examination committees to ensure they comply with the rules on examinations.
This ensures that the content being taught fulfils the principles of ITIL®. It is therefore imperative to pay attention to this quality aspect when selecting the training partner.

Examination Institutes

There are currently three organizations offering exams and certificates based on ITIL®. These are:

The APM Group as the organization responsible for the ITIL® qualification scheme.
The Information Systems Examination Board (ISEB) in English for UK, Ireland and the British Commonwealth.
The Exam Institute (EXIN), a foundation sponsored by Dutch industry, in Dutch, as well as other languages in various countries of Europe and overseas.

All are non-proprietary and non-profit organizations. They arrange the exams but do not personally offer any corresponding training. They work very closely together in formulating the exams. Training organizations that offer training in preparation for exams must be accredited with these organizations. This ensures the quality of the training.
